Most adults have had the unfortunate experience of getting a sunburn.
While there are several treatments available for attempting to «fix» a sunburn after the fact, scientists and medical professionals agree that each additional sunburn a person has in their lifetime increases the chances of getting a variety of maladies, ranging from wrinkles to cancer.
There is no doubt that when it comes to the skin and sunburn, prevention really is the best medicine and a few simple tips can help avoid accidental overexposure to the sun and keep the skin from burning.
1. Beware of clouds! Many people mistakenly believe that they cannot get a sunburn on a cloudy day. This is not true. The clouds do not block the sun shine, they simply scatter the sunlight particles, meaning that you can definitely still burn on a cloudy day.
2. Try to avoid being active outdoors when the sun is at its peak, between 10 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon.
